Presentation Details:

Students are required to submit a PowerPoint presentation of no more than 12 slides to the Turnitin linkPresentation Theme:Part 1 – ‘What is Strategy?’ Students are required to discuss and critique some of the different approaches to strategy and strategic management, covered in the first 6 weeks of the module. References from credible academic sources are vital to this part of the presentation, following the USW Harvard Referencing guidelines;Part 2 – Company Focus. Students are required to choose a company and analyse the strategy/strategies it employs, based on Porter’s Generic Strategies and Bowman’s Strategy Clock as analytical tools. Students are allowed to use the same company as is required in the case study for Assignment 2 for this module, should they wish to do so.The notes section of each slide should contain a script of what you would say if presenting the content to your module tutor. The analysis you are presenting needs to be written in the notes sections.The content of the slides must be fully USW Harvard Referenced. The presentations final slides must include a full reference list and the slides contain in text references based on the USW Harvard Referencing guidelines.

Marking Criteria

The marks for each criterion are to illustrate where the main effort should be spent and are not meant to be a strict marking scheme. A full marking scheme is available on Blackboard.

Content

For Part One, you are expected to discuss and critique the different approaches to strategy and strategic management. Do not simply list different approaches, they should be compared, contrasted and critiqued;For Part Two, you are expected to analyse the types of strategies their chosen company have adopted, with evidence of how these strategies have been identified (including references);Presentation slides should contain references, following the USW Harvard Referencing guidelines, for all information within them;Information used to construct the presentation needs to come from credible, academic sources, such as books, journal articles and industry or market reports. Current, relevant information from company annual reports and newspaper articles (from credible and quality Business News sources) for example, are also permitted;The last slides of the presentation should include a full set of references, using the USW Harvard Referencing guidelines.
