-Focus on the visuals of the graphic novel you are analyzing. How do the visuals make you feel? How is the tone, atmosphere, and mood conveyed? For Persepolis, how does the black and white visual style convey the message in a different way? -Consider how the narrator expresses a child′s perspective on the adult world.
Do not go outside of the resources provided in this class for your analysis. While outside research can sometimes be used to extend our own thoughts and ideas, instead I want you to provide your own personal, organic analysis of the source. -There are an abundance of resources posted in this course that you could reference to help with your analysis of the dystopian message(s) and theme.
-For the underlying cultural message, consider the current state of the world and the people around you. How can you relate the story to your own life, experiences, and community?
-Be sure to write with a distanced, third person perspective for a more authoritative tone in your analysis.
